Tree Silhouette

Traffic can really be boring… Good thing that taking a photo of about anything that strikes my attention can cure it sometimes… Just as what this photo is all about. It was taken along Mercedes Ave., Pasig City, Philippines. Filters were applied on this photo to make the tree appear like a silhouette on a sunny afternoon background.

Hero’s tears – iPhoneography

I was really amazed to see this bust of the Philippine’s national hero, Jose Rizal. It can be seen on top of the gate of an old Mediterranean house along the main road of Kapasigan, Pasig City. I made a quick snap and luckily I captured the seemingly crying of Rizal… but actually it was only a stream of dust across the face of the bust through the years.

“Kalan de Uling”

“kalan de uling” – iPhoneography (iPhone 6 plus) by Ria Maria ©vix.ph

“Kalan de Uling”

Like a cinder that turned to ash when the fire’s glory is all consumed… It was a kalan de uling used here in the Philippines when you want to cook rather than by a stove. I felt the urge of taking a snap of it when I saw it. There’s something about it that is creepy and beautiful. It kinds of reminds me about the old adage:

From ash (dust) you came, and to ash (dust) you shall return…
